Automated scratch or dig inspection with bright and dark-field imaging
Automation in optical component manufacturing reduces costs and boosts efficiency, driving adoption in precision optics. Automated surface quality inspection offers objective, traceable surface analysis, improving process control and reducing inspection errors. While dark-field imaging excels at detecting light-scattering defects like scratches and digs, it misses reflectivity-based issues such as coating defects. Bright-field imaging addresses this by detecting changes in reflectivity or transmission. By combining both techniques with image processing and machine learning, we enable comprehensive defect inspection and classification.
