• Jenoptik, Zeiss and many SMEs: Over 160 exhibitors, partners and speakers from Thuringia, other German states and abroad
• Minister President Bodo Ramelow opens the trade fair
• Free high-tech lecture program for all company levels

In two weeks, on 29 + 30 November 2023, the new W3+ Fair Jena (w3-fair.com), network trade fair and conference for enabling technologies, will open its doors for the first time at the photonics location Jena | Thuringia – a premiere. Thuringia’s Minister President Bodo Ramelow will officially open the event on the first day of the fair. Jena’s first industry trade fair will bring together players from the cutting-edge technologies of photonics, optics, electronics and mechanics in the Sparkassenarena Jena. The idea is to establish interdisciplinary networks, exchange knowledge and launch innovations for the major topics of the future – for areas such as medical technology, life science, automotive, semiconductors, mechanical and plant engineering and others.
Together with the optics cluster OptoNet Jena e.V., trade fair organizer Fleet Events from Hamburg is bringing a good 160 large and small companies, partners and speakers to Jena. Thuringia is strongly represented: A good third of the exhibition space is occupied by companies from the state. However, exhibitors from other federal states and abroad will also use the opportunity to make contact with the region. In the Campus Area, Nucleus Jena, a joint venture between Ernst Abbe University and Friedrich Schiller University, will be showcasing the latest developments from the local universities.

The free conference en-tech.talks will also provide the latest know-how for all areas of business, with specialist presentations from Jenoptik, Zeiss and ASML, among others.
The W3+ Fair is supported by trade associations and numerous partners from the region, including the Thuringian Cluster Management LEG Thüringen, the Metropolitan Region of Central Germany, the East Thuringia Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Gera, the Tridelta Campus Hermsdorf, the Center for Mechanical Engineering ThZM, Enterprise Europe Network EEN and the medical technology network medways. The organizer is expecting over 1800 trade visitors.

Nora Kirsten, Managing Director of OptoNet Jena e.V., is delighted: “We are overwhelmed by the popularity of the new W3+ Fair Jena. The time was ripe to offer the many innovative companies from our strong photonics region a stage to present the economic strength of Jena | Thuringia. There is also great interest from other regions. We hope that this will result in forward-looking cooperation for Central Germany.”
