The organiser Fleet Events is now moving online with a new, digital networking format for the photonics industry. New dates have also been announced for the in-person W3+ Fair events in Wetzlar/ Germany and the Rhine Valley (DACHLI)
Hamburg, February 10, 2021: PHOTONICS+ Virtual Exhibition and Conference, in partnership with EPIC, is a new, efficient networking event for the photonics industry due to take place for the first time on 17 + 18 February 2021. The innovative live, digital event brings stakeholders in the photonics industry together with associated technologies such as optics, electronics and mechanics, as well as relevant user areas. The organiser is Fleet-Events – which also arranges the W3+ Fair high-tech trade fair in Germany and Austria. The company has developed the innovative digital event together with EPIC – European Photonics Industry Consortium, the largest association in the photonics sector. Over two afternoons, the more than 5,000 online visitors that are expected can become part of the community in an inspiring and efficient way: more than 300 exhibitors will introduce themselves using short product presentations, and 1:1 video chats will enable direct contact that facilitates the initiation of new cooperation opportunities and projects. The matchmaking function, aided by AI, helps participants find the right people and ensures an ideal pre-selection. No less than 20 top keynote speakers will give lectures about current topics relating to photonics. These include speakers from Q Cells, L’Oreal, MBDA, Airbus, Intel, Globalfoundries, Telefonica, Electrolux, ST Microelectronics and ASML. Even making spontaneous connections with promising contacts is easy as there are interactive rooms where participants can intuitively initiate conversations and discuss current developments in specific subject areas – very enjoyably in a relaxed atmosphere.

As Fleet Events goes online with PHOTONICS+, the new dates for the upcoming in-person W3+ Fair events have also been decided. In Wetzlar, the trade fair has been moved to the 2nd quarter, due to the coronavirus. W3+ Fair Wetzlar 2021W3+ Fair Wetzlar 2021
is now scheduled to take place on 27 + 28 April 2021. W3+ Fair Rhine ValleyW3+ Fair Rhine Valley in Austria, which was cancelled in 2020, is due to return on 22 + 23 September 2021.

About W3+ Fair
The event is based on an industry initiative started in Wetzlar and Middle Hesse to promote networking between the three sectors of optics, electronics and mechanics. The aim is that new connections will pave the way for future-oriented technologies. The trade fair was held for the first time in February 2014 in the Rittal Arena in Wetzlar. Wetzlar Network and EPIC are gold partners of the event. W3+ Fair is organised by the Hamburg-based trade fair and conference organiser FLEET Events (www.fleet-events.de). The W3+ Fair Rheintal trade fair was added recently, and celebrated its première in September 2019 in the four-country region encompassing parts of Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Germany, with the gold partners EPIC, Swissphotonics and Photonics Austria.
